ABOUT
Curls Monthly is a subscription mailer that focuses on environmental health and curl education. Curls Monthly subscribers receive 5-8 trial size portions of hand-selected products to try on their unique head of hair. Each mailer includes a bio-degradable brochure that walks the subscribers through the product's benefits. All designed to boost purchasing confidence and product knowledge.
CHALLENGE
The goal was to design a newspaper-style logo, brand identity and website that would be modern, feminine, elegant, and fun at the same time. The overall look and feel needed to be in neutral tones to remind of the eco-friendly aspect of the subscription mailer.
SOLUTION
We combined paper texture, neutral colors and shapes, large fonts and newspaper style typographic layout. It was decided to keep the logo fairly simple to ensure its readability, ease of use on printed materials, and harmony with the sophisticated design structures that saturate the visual language.
